At Rest = 0 Initial Velocity
Dropped / Released = Acceleration is g. (And what is g? .... 9.8 m/s2!!!)
In Free Fall, the a = 9.8 m/s2. Always.

Once more with feeling... what is g?

And what is it?

Acceleration!!!

And is it constant?

Yes!!! It's always constant!!!
