New Policy Changes That Affect Everyone

Policy Changes - Starting After Break

1) In order to retake the test, you must show proof of studying. Proof of studying consists of:

a. A pre-test worksheet to be submitted prior to the test that day.

b. A pre-retake worksheet to be submitted prior to the retake that day.

2) Labs must be done on an individual basis. Everything must be typed with the exception of the calculations.

a. Procedure (Whatchadid)

b. Observation (Whatchasaw)

c. Calculations (Whatchadid with Whatchasaw)

d. Conclusion (Whatchalearned from Whatchadid with Whatchasaw)

3) Blogs

a. Blog posts must be done before the next class.

b. Starting January, blogs will be checked the day that they are due at 3:00pm.

c. The blogs must be written with attention to grammar, spelling, and clarity.

d. The rubric for blogs will be as follows:

i. Comprehension (15 points)

1. The student does not comprehend the blog assignment.

2. The student shows marginal comprehension of concepts.

3. The student shows comprehension of the subject.

4. The student shows mastery of the subject.

ii. Clarity (10 points)

1. The student was not coherent.

2. The student shows 1 or 2 disconnected ideas.

3. The student shows ideas but does so with disconnect.

4. The student’s ideas flow and are well-interconnected.

iii. Creativity (5 points)

1. The student plagiarized ideas from un-cited sources.

2. The student did not properly cite a source.

3. The student connected outside sources properly to the ideas expressed.

4. The student came up with original ideas based on the information.
